01 What’s included in the Rescue Kit?

THE KIT

Rescue HQ carry case with its built-in Charge Queue, Charge Hub, Go Gauge battery tester, Fixi dual-tip screwdriver, eight Power Pals AA 1.2V 2200mAh Ni-MH rechargeable batteries, a USB-C cable and the Mission Guide. The eight batteries feature four randomly selected characters, with two batteries of each character.

02 Why choose rechargeable Power Pals?

THE KIT

Power Pals are designed to help families reuse the same batteries across everyday play. That can mean fewer last-minute disposable-battery purchases, less battery waste and a more organised way to keep charged batteries ready.

03 What makes the Charge Hub different?

CHARGE HUB

The Charge Hub has eight independently managed charging slots. It automatically recognises compatible rechargeable batteries, lets supported AA and AAA sizes or chemistries charge together, and gives each slot its own status light. Charging works automatically, with an optional app for added visibility and settings.

04 What power adapter does the Charge Hub need?

CHARGE HUB

Use a certified, compatible 5–9V USB-C Power Delivery adapter. The Charge Hub is rated DC 5–9V, with 27W maximum charging power and up to 1A per slot. A USB-C cable is supplied; the wall adapter is not included.

05 How long does charging take?

CHARGE HUB

Charging generally takes around 2–6 hours. The exact time depends on how much charge the batteries already have, the USB-C Power Delivery adapter being used and the selected app settings. Power Pals may arrive partly charged, so fully charge them before their first use.

06 Can the Charge Hub recharge other batteries?

CHARGE HUB

Yes. The Charge Hub supports compatible rechargeable batteries in both AA and AAA sizes. Supported chemistries are Ni-MH, Ni-Cd, Li-ion, LiFePO₄, LiHV and 1.5V rechargeable lithium. Each slot is managed independently, so different compatible sizes and chemistries can charge together. The Power Pals supplied with the Rescue Kit are AA 1.2V Ni-MH batteries. Never attempt to recharge disposable, damaged or swollen batteries.

07 Can Power Pals be used in any AA device?

COMPATIBILITY

Power Pals are designed for most household devices that use standard AA batteries, including many toys, remotes, clocks and torches. Always check the device instructions and battery-compartment markings. Compatibility can vary in devices with unusual or deeply recessed battery contacts.

08 Does the kit require adult supervision?

SAFETY & CARE

Yes. The kit contains functional tools and is not a toy. It should only be used under adult supervision, and it contains small parts that are not suitable for children under three years old.

09 When will Power Pals launch and where will it ship to?

LAUNCH & SUPPORT

Power Pals is preparing to launch for families in New Zealand and Australia, with the Battery Rescue Kits planned for later in 2026. Join the waitlist to hear when ordering opens for your region.

10 How should old batteries be recycled?

SAFETY & CARE

Never place batteries in household rubbish. In New Zealand, use an approved battery-recycling service. In Australia, use a B-cycle drop-off point or local council collection. In other countries, follow your local battery-recycling guidance.
